Owl Necklaces

Happy New Year from Owl Necklaces!  I hope everyone had a fun and safe new years celebration.  I wanted to let everyone know of my plans for Owl Necklaces in 2012.  I have decided to support more local and good causes this year.  My first event will be “Fight For Air Climb” which is a unique way to contribute to the American Lung Association.  I will be climbing with a team of local people from the Naperville area trying to raise over $1000 for the team.  I will be climbing  31 flights of stairs or 680 steps to the top of the tallest building in the Chicagolands suburbs.  I’m excited to participate in this excellent climb and fund raise for The American Lung Association.  Please let me know anyone would like additional information about this event or Owl Necklaces.

I thought that I would post some recent pictures… instead of blogging I have been participating in several local events.  Last weekend I participated in the Little Friends “Step Up for Autism”.  Here are a few pictures with all of my friends before the walk.

Ever heard of a community organization called Feed My Starving Children?

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization committed to feeding children.  Through donations and local community volunteers, the organization helps feed malnourished children in over 70 countries.  For more information about Feed My Starving Children check out their website: http://www.fmsc.org.

I was able to volunteer recently so I’m posting some pictures of myself, my family, and friends.  We all worked together to pack over 8 boxes at my table!

I love this article written by Rick Johnson all about local owls to the Naperville, IL area.  Mr. Johnson speaks about local owls such as the great horned owl and the eastern screech owl, saw whet owl, as well as the short eared owl which love the Springbrook Prairie.  The article also goes over owl history including how the Greeks believed that Owls foretold good fortune and victory in battle.  According to the Greeks, owls symbolize wisdom.
